'Newshour' the unmissable
I have been following the 'Newshour' on the English news channel, Times Now regularly for the past 3-4 months. Believe me I have always been critical of the editorial mistakes of The Times of India newspaper, however the Newshour has made me change my views and fall for the excellent debates and interviews conducted by the Editor- in chief, Arnab Goswami. The channel conducts debates on daily news headlines with the representatives of various political parties. Times now has been one of the first news channels to rake up the scams emerging in the government and ask tough questions. It became the most watched English news channel in Indian television. Another record made by times now was on 16th of May, the big result day when times now created a mass appeal with its broadcast at Times Square,New York.
The best approach of the news hour is that they ask fair and straight questions to all with no bias whether it is congress, bjp or any other political party. Also they don't shy away from being critical of any when needed. Am sure you remember Rajat Sharma and Pranoy Roy of Aap ki Adalat and India this week respectively. These were the two big journalists who set high standards of debate in daily news. The latest standing high is Arnab Goswami who has evolved news anchoring by bringing in high profile journalists and even social workers in the Newshour debates.
No matter how much you hate Arnab because of his habit of interrupting every spokesperson possible on his show, you cannot simply ignore him. It's because of his off league approach that people come back to watch this show everyday. The viewers enjoy his rude and crude questioning which makes the debators keep quiet unless asked to speak. Also with the blue- eyed boy of Congress, Rahul Gandhi' s disastrous and Mr Modi's impeccable interview on frankly speaking, times now has gained on the on the TRP's during the election fever. I wish times now continues to question on relevant issues on growth and development which will definitely keep it as an eye- opener for all the citizens of this country.
